Barolo Bussi Dardi Le Rose Poderi Colla, 2016, Piemonte, Italy

Superlative: 91/100

Perfect, perfect, Bussia

2016 is the most perfect vintage in Bussia.

Perfect combination of climate, wind and sunshine created the conditions to harvest exceptional grapes. They're on the hill of Bussia, in a single vineyard called Dardi le Rose, not far from Barolo village. This growth varies between 300 to 350 metres altitude. Proximity to the Alps as well as the local Piemonte hills create a sub-alpine environment.

Structured

Ripe and savoury nose with dried fruits, plum and spicy characters. The palate is generous with rich black bramble fruit, cedar, leather, and meaty notes. Fine tannins give structure and depth while crisp acidity gives balance on the finish.
