Tenuta Serranova Susumaniello 2018 Puglia, Italy

Off-piste: 88/100

One of the world's rarest wine grapes

Susumaniello is a little-known red-wine grape from Puglia, southern Italy. Think about Frappato or Gamay, Susumaniello has a light red colour thick skin with high acidity. The plant is super vigorous and has good tolerance to cryptogamic diseases. It’s a resilient grape variety that should weather Puglia through a changing climate.

Sharing a rare harmony

The serranova is clear throughout with very intense ruby red. Pulpy red fruits, stone fruit such as black cherry, prune, and wild blackberry, spiced with green pepper and leather accents. Harmonious, full but fresh.
