Every month is a new tasting adventure when you subscribe to this case of six from the leading edge of winemaking.
Each month we’ll showcase producers from obscure and often challenging wine locations.
The quality of any wine is determined by the geography and climate where the grapes are grown. But the most suitable locations are shifting as our planet warms.
With new areas outperforming established wine regions, we must begin to recognise excellence where it’s found today, not where it used to be.
With these cases, you can enjoy bottles from the very latest names in winemaking excellence.
Three white and three red:
Episode 29 is like Premier Cru Chablis. Nutty notes of slivered almonds, some apple juice concentrate, light notes of acacia honey.
Score: 92/100, Vegan
An absolutely electric palate with blazing acids, delicate nutty overtones, but an underlying energy that is really amazing.
Score: 90/100, Sustainable
A very distinctive, precise and quite sophisticated Chenin Blanc that feels both very youthful and relatively evolved at the same time.
Can't stop drawing my nose back to the glass. Secondary to tertiary notes with liquorice and damson fruit on palate with a lot of depth and ripe tannins. A mature mourvedre showing its softer side.
Score: 95/100, Sustainable
Supple, fine and quite silky with nice red cherry fruit as well as some fine green hints. Has real elegance and a savoury edge, with massive drinkability and more than a hint of complexity.
Score: 89/100, Vegan, Sustainable
Julien Castell is at the helm and moving the domaine towards a biodynamic future. The vines have been certified as organic since 2014 and biodynamic from the 2017 vintage.
Score: 91/100, Organic
